Né en 1979, Incognito est la Rolls de la scène acid jazz qui fit groover l'Angleterre de l'aube des années 90. Emmené par le guitariste Jean-Paul 'Bluey' Maunick, le combo londonien trouve ici la recette magique pour fusionner toutes ses influences, qu'il s'agisse de Curtis Mayfield, Gil Scott-Heron, Roy Ayers, Stevie Wonder et d'Earth Wind & Fire. Surtout qu'au micro, Maysa Leak fait des miracles. Sans doute l'un des disques les plus magiques de Talkin’ Loud, LE label acid jazz par excellence fondé par un certain Gilles Peterson... © MD/Qobuz
