De fort belle manière, Pass out of Existence étant incroyablement réussi pour un groupe récent et composé de jeunes musiciens. Là où certains fusionnent différents styles pour se créer une personnalité, Chimaira donne sa personnalité à différents styles.
Inspiré tout d'abord par le trash, Pass out of Existence n'hésite pas à introduire des éléments électroniques qui font mouche. Mais ce n'est pas suffisant pour l'imagination débridée de Chimaira, le groupe de Cleveland s'inspirant du death pour un « Dead Inside » aventureux.
D'un niveau constant, Pass out of Existence a de plus le bon goût de s'achever sur le brillantissime « Jade » aux forts relents industriels. Chimaira ne manque pas d'ambition, avant tout artistiquement quand le groupe prend le parti pris d'imposer un style marqué par l'originalité.
Une telle entrée en matière laisse bien augurer d'une carrière qui n'a ensuite rien fait pour démentir les promesses de Pass out of Existence.
