Chaque nouveau projet de JPEGAMFIA est une expérience. LP!, son quatrième album en cinq ans, prouve certes que le rappeur et producteur américain est un homme prolifique, mais également qu’il est l’un des rares artistes pouvant prétendre à redéfinir les contours du rap actuel. En déconstruisant ses compositions et en sublimant l’art du collage sonore, il manie le hip-hop expérimental en demeurant tourné vers l’avenir. Cet album s’écoute de A à Z, fait passer l’auditeur par un nombre incalculable d’émotions et d’atmosphères. Du glitch rap sur NEMO! au rock malmené sur END CREDITS!, des superbes mélodies de ARE U HAPPY? au noise-rap de BMT!, il produit tout, montre que lorsqu’un artiste a son processus musical en main, il peut se permettre toutes les folies. LP! est une vraie réussite, rendue plus abordable par des titres tels que DAM! DAM! DAM! ou son carton de l’année 2020, BALD!, sur lesquels il rappelle qu’il est bel et bien un rappeur, au sens pur et dur du terme.
