Passée en quelques semaines de l'anonymat d'un travail de serveuse, aux plateaux de télévision et aux sommets du Billboard, Christina Perri vit un de ces contes de fées comme nous en gratifie parfois l'univers de la musique.
Sans autre ambition qu'un pop rock romantique, Christina Perri vaut surtout pour un talent d'écriture limpide. Aérienne aussi, la voix de Christina Perri charme sans racoler avec son timbre pur. Tube mondial, « Jar of Hearts » fait partie de ces chansons qui se retiennent dès la première écoute, avec son joli tempo lent rythmé au piano, et le timbre convaincant de Christina Perri, difficile de passer à côté.
Pas de « A Thousand Years » ici, disponible uniquement en single ou sur la bande originale du dernier avatar de la saga Twillight, mais une collection de douze titres un peu uniformes qui correspondent à la version originale de l'album sorti en 2011 aux Etats-Unis. Manquent également les trois titres supplémentaires de l'édition Deluxe. Par contre le public français a droit au duo avec Jason Mraz « Distance », que Christina Perri pourra entonner sur scène lors de leur prochaine tournée commune.
Lovestrong pêche surtout par sa tonalité générale répétitive et déprimée, certainement que Christina Perri sera plus joyeuse pour son deuxième album grâce aux exceptionnels résultats enregistrés par ce premier essai.
