Projet de Ryan Olson de Gayngs, Poliça mêle le post-R&B introspectif de The XX à la dream pop des Cocteau Twins en passant par l'electronica glaçante de Portishead et assez d'Auto-Tune pour faire sonner T-Pain organique. De fait, avec son timbre à la Sarah McLachlan trafiqué au-delà du reconnaissable, il est régulièrement difficile de comprendre un traître mot aux paroles des chansons d'amours déçus de Channy Leaneagh sur le premier album de Poliça, Give You the Ghost. Magré quelques zestes de reggae dub, de country hallucinée ou de jazz-funk, l'essentiel de l'album s'en tient à cette recette, lui procurant un potentiel d'immersion dans son ensemble, aidé par une production gorgée de reverb signée Olson et un certain impact émotionnel.
