"Live" Full House est l'album qui a permis à J. Geils Band de convertir sa réputation en début de notoriété, il est également considéré parmi les grands albums en public de l'histoire, aux côtés de Kick Out the Jams de MC5 et Ot'N'Sweaty de Cactus.
L'album ouvre sur « First I look at the Purse (Live) », qui devient le premier simple de J. Geils Band à accéder à un classement. Le ton est donné, c'est un pur show de rhythm'n'blues blanc qui est capturé ce soir là au Cinderella Ballroom de Detroit (Michigan).
Court, à peine trente-cinq minutes, ramassé sur un répertoire qui n'offre aucune échapatoire, "Live" Full House est un condensé de rock blues poisseux et énergique. J. Geils Band sur scène ce sont six furieux qui n'omettent jamais de mettre leur talent au service du collectif.
"Live" Full House représente un moment de bonheur, de jouissance rock'n'rollienne totale, pas de Best of scénique mollasson, ici l'histoire s'écrit en direct. Grâce au CD et au numérique, l'album peut s'écouter d'un seul tenant, il est alors bien difficile de reprendre son souffle entre les solos d'harmonica de Magic Dick, les glissendos de clavier de Seth Justman, la folie à peine contrôlée de Peter Wolf et la guitare tellement bluesy de J. Geils.
Quand aux 9 minutes et 57 secondes de « Serves You Right to Suffer», elles disent tout ce qu'est le blues et tout ce qu'est un grand groupe.
