Dans son album de 2006 From This Moment On, Diana Krall revient à la fois à un répertoire de classiques et au son des big bands qu’elle affectionne dans ce qui peut sembler un retour aux sources. L’autorité et l’élégance des prestations vocales et au piano de Diana Krall s’imposent du début à la fin. Son approche subtile et sensuelle est à la fois très naturelle et incontestablement habile. Avec une liste de titres incluant "Little Girl Blue", "Willow Weep for Me" et "Isn't This a Lovely Day", on pourrait craindre que Krall ne foule ici un terrain un peu trop rebattu, mais la chanteuse canadienne appose sa marque distinctive à chacun de ses 11 compositions. Le Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra offre un puissant swing aux chansons rapides, toutefois éclipsé par l’approche somptueuse et mélancolique avec laquelle Diana Krall traite les ballades.
