Led Zeppelin manque à certains ? Pas grave, Rival Sons est là pour faire mieux que boucher le trou. Un peu facile de réduire le gang de Long Beach à celui de clones du tandem Robert Plant/Jimmy Page. D'autant plus qu’en dix ans, ces Californiens chevelus emmenés par Jay Buchanan ne se sont pas contentés de tremper le blues et le rock heavy dans de la lave en fusion. Guitares qui taillent à tout-va, rythmique poids lourd et chant de mort de faim, Rival Sons est là pour célébrer le rock éternel avec un son assez contemporain. Produit par l'homme de Nashville Dave Cobb, ce sixième album ne cherche jamais à réinventer la roue, mais plutôt à la faire tourner à mille à l’heure.
