WHO: ELECTROACOUSTIC MUSIC is a whimsical, complex journey into the world of natural acoustic sound manipulation. The sonic palette is fully expanded beyond convention with the orchestration of frequently changing previously recorded material via electronic manipulation. Composer Noah Creshevsky states, "Much of my musical vocabulary consists of familiar bits of words and vocal instrumental music which are deconstructed into minute fragments, subjected to a variety of electronic processes, and finely reassembled in ways that bear little or no discernible relationship to their original sources." Using fragments of music strangely familiar, veteran experimenter Creshevsky hones in on melodic shapes to create an abstract, listenable experience unlike any other. From the bold opening 'Fanfare' which uses somber voices combined with brass instruments, to the harpsichord, string filled 'Nude Ascending,' the music rarely sways from a pulsing rhythmic structure, but sonically progresses so often that it more than makes up for the monotony of this style. For the adventurous listener at heart, WHO: ELECTROACOUSTIC MUSIC ultimately broadens the spectrum, creating a language of music that brings together new contiguous elements of human performance, modern computers and electronics.
