Avec Aventine, Agnes Obel étoffe un peu plus l’univers intimiste, climatique et on ne peut plus onirique qui suintait de son premier album, le grandiose Philharmonics. Derrière un piano épuré emprunté à Erik Satie, la Danoise installée à Berlin étire ses miniatures vers davantage de grandeur. Comme d’immenses espaces sonores que sa voix réverbérée vient magnifier. On se laisse donc flotter dans cette sublime matière sonore. Dans ce rêve éveillé encore plus subtil que sur son prédécesseur. Moucheté par quelques violons ici. Ou par un violoncelle là. Un disque qui confirme le talent d’une musicienne hors du temps. Cette édition Deluxe comprend onze titres inédits dont des versions live de ses classiques tels que Fuel To Fire ou Words Are Dead, deux remix signés David Lynch et David Matz ainsi que trois titres inédits : Arches, Under Giant Trees et September Song.
