En juin 2017, les fans des Beach Boys ont pu déguster un trésor inédit baptisé 1967 – Sunshine Tomorrow. Une sorte de Graal de 50 ans d’âge, quand les Californiens étaient alors les grands maîtres de la pop américaine. Des cadors ayant réussi à faire évoluer leur juvénile surf music des débuts vers des cieux bien plus complexes, osés et fous grâce notamment à leur chef-d’œuvre Pet Sounds, leur grand album paru en mai 1966. Publié en décembre 1967, l’album Wild Honey montrera encore une nouvelle facette de la bande de Brian Wilson. Les sessions de ce treizième opus furent intenses et déroutantes comme le montrait ce 1967 – Sunshine Tomorrow, en fait la réunion du mix complet du disque agrémenté d’inédits de ces séances d’enregistrement mais aussi de celles de Smiley Smile et du live Lei'd in Hawaii… Six mois plus tard voici 1967 - Sunshine Tomorrow 2: The Studio Sessions, un autre trésor avant tout réservé aux fans hardcore des Beach Boys. Cette « suite » comprend donc 29 prises inédites provenant de ce même matériel. A savoir une belle brochette de pépites incluant notamment une version a cappella de Heroes and Villains ou ce titre inédit baptisé Tune L. Bref, un disque destiné exclusivement aux experts des Garçons plagistes… © CM/Qobuz

En juin 2017, les fans des Beach Boys ont pu déguster un trésor inédit baptisé 1967 – Sunshine Tomorrow.
