TDT compiles Big K.R.I.T.'s trilogy of short-form releases from November and December 2018. All eight tracks from Thrice X, Double Down, and Trifecta are present, resequenced wisely for flow, consequently ensuring that they won't be lost in the Mississippian's deep catalog. Due to its brevity, TDT doesn't have the artistic heft of K.R.I.T.'s first post-Def Jam LP, 4eva Is a Mighty Long Time, but it handily rises above disposable intermediate status. The highlights here, including the bumping Houston nod "Learned from Texas," atmospheric "Glorious," and scolding "Pick Yourself Up" (with a clever sonic composite referring to classic Too $hort and via-Isleys Jay-Z), rate with the best of the preceding LP. K.R.I.T. continues to glide with slick efficiency, even while he's "poppin' that trunk so reckless."
