Some of João Bosco's biggest hits until the year of 1986. Includes the romantic "Papel Marchê." The famous and distinctive swinging association for his singing and his violão playing is present in "Nação," "Aquarela do Brasil," "O Mestre-sala dos Mares," "A Nível De," "Linha de Passe," "Kid Cavaquinho," "O Bêbado e o Equilibrista," "Siri Recheado e o Cacete," "O Rancho da Goiabada," "Gênesis," "O Ronco da Cuíca," "Tiro de Misericórdia," and "Escadas da Penha" (all from the 1983 live album João Bosco Ao Vivo -- 100a. Apresentação, where he played and sang alone). The support band appears in "Coisa Feita" (1982, Comissão de Frente), "João Balaio" (a modern funk/Bahian samba crossover), "Samba Em Berlim Com Saliva de Cobra" (highlights of the corrosive lyrics by Aldir Blanc, also present in several of the other hits included here), and "Preta-porter de Tafetá" (where Blanc's lyrics establish an ironic counterpoint between people in Brazil and the French presence in that country).
