Singer, producer, and songwriter Johnny Nash was the first American to record the Wailers between 1970 and 1972, and also to put some publishing money into the lunch pail of Bob Marley. Nash scored big hits with "I Can See Clearly Now," and "Stir It Up," -- the latter written by Marley. Nash's easy pop-reggae was unique at the time, and caught on with AM radio listeners. He was also a decent if not necessarily original soul singer as this collection attests. Legacy issued this ten-song retrospective even as Nash was working in Texas with Pro Tools to remaster his own music -- several tracks were lost in the mixing process, meaning that no one has ever heard either the hits or the misses as they were originally intended. Still, this collection is dirt cheap and is well worth the money for its considerable entertainment value.
