This is a subtly powerful group featuring balafon, djembo, talking drum, flute, and lead voice with chorus, all male. The rhythm and melody are so well integrated that the definitions of each become blurred: on first listen the music seemed all sweet melody, while the second time around every instrument emerged as rhythmically inspired. The excellent technical quality -- as "live" as a concert-hall recording -- adds to the impact .
