Irby continues to establish his distinct saxophone voice on this release with a host of great originals and compelling covers of Stevie Wonder's "Too High" and Billy Strayhorn's "Take the 'A' Train." What is most satisfying is the balance between dexterity and melodicism. His hard bop approach and free spirit are a pleasure to hear.
