Extending the life of 2022's Impera, Ghost recruited Joe Elliot of Def Leppard for a 2023 reworking of "Spillways," that album's fourth single. The collaboration came about when Ghost's Tobias Forge contacted Elliot about working together; as it turned out, the Def Leppard frontman had been a fan of Ghost for years. The new version doesn't differ much from the original, as the pair simply sing together in unison (like an unholy karaoke version, which can be seen on Ghost's "Chapter 15: Meanwhile in Dublin"). It's a fun bit of past-meets-present and a rare instance when it's actually good to meet your heroes.
