Após se tornar um astro internacional, graças ao sucesso das músicas “Lucky” e “I’m Yours”, o cantor e compositor americano Jason Mraz retornou em 2012 com seu quarto álbum de estúdio, Love Is a Four Letter Word. O artista retoma sua popular mistura entre o rock clássico e o pop alternativo, adicionando elementos de world music e incluindo letras extremamente pessoais. Produzido por Joe Chiccarelli, o disco tem 13 faixas – a emocionante “I Won’t Give Up” foi escolhida como single principal, e chegou às rádios alguns meses antes do lançamento oficial do álbum. A estratégia funcionou, e Love Is a Four Letter Word chegou ao segundo lugar da parada britânica de álbuns, atrás apenas do fenômeno “21”, de Adele.
