Lançado em 1992, Core é o álbum de estreia da banda de San Diego (EUA) Stone Temple Pilots. Inicialmente o disco não fez muito alarde, mas foi ganhando fama após uma turnê de um ano e escalou de vez as paradas musicais em 1993. As guitarras implacáveis, a atmosfera pesada e os vocais que deixavam implícito o sofrimento sintetizaram com perfeição o movimento grunge que havia chegado ao mainstream no início da década de 90. Mas Core foi além das temáticas batidas do rock pesado que era feito naquele período, abordando temas de pertinência social e trazendo reflexões sobre a vida. O peso do disco se juntou às melodias acessíveis ao grande público, conquistando fãs fiéis por todo o mundo. Isso gerou um álbum que marcou época, graças às muitas canções que caíram no gosto popular e resistiram ao tempo, como "Sex Type Thing", "Wicked Garden", "Creep" e "Plush".

Lançado em 1992, Core é o álbum de estreia da banda de San Diego (EUA) Stone Temple Pilots. Inicialmente o disco não fez muito alarde, mas foi ganhando fama após uma turnê de um ano e escalou de vez as paradas musicais em 1993. As guitarras implacáveis, a atmosfera pesada e os vocais que deixavam implícito o sofrimento sintetizaram com perfeição o movimento grunge que havia chegado ao mainstream no início da década de 90. Mas Core foi além das temáticas batidas do rock pesado que era feito naquele período, abordando temas de pertinência social e trazendo reflexões sobre a vida. O peso do disco se juntou às melodias acessíveis ao grande público, conquistando fãs fiéis por todo o mundo. Isso gerou um álbum que marcou época, graças às muitas canções que caíram no gosto popular e resistiram ao tempo, como "Sex Type Thing", "Wicked Garden", "Creep" e "Plush".
