Songlines magazine announces the nominees in the 2020 Songlines Music Awards and releases a playlist featuring all nominated artists.
Songlines is delighted to announce the nominations for the 12th annual Songlines Music Awards. The awards, voted by Songlines contributors, readers and the general public, champion the wealth of musical talent across the world that has been featured in Songlines magazine. All nominated artists have had albums reviewed in Songlines during 2019 (from issues #145 to #154 inclusive). The categories include five geographical regions based on the CD reviews sections in Songlines – Africa, Americas, Europe, Asia and Fusion – as well as Best Artist, Best Group, Newcomer and World Pioneer Awards. The nominees for Best Artist and Best Group, plus the geographical categories will be published in the May issue of Songlines (#157), on sale from April 10. The winners of the Best Artist, Best Group and five geographical categories will be announced in the June issue (#158), on sale from May 15 2020. The winners of the Newcomer & World Pioneer Awards will be revealed at the Songlines Music Awards ceremony later in the year.
