Lead singer Ricky Wilson has been hit with criticism left, right and centre since agreeing to join the judges' panel for The Voice alongside Will.i.am, Kylie Minogue and Tom Jones, but in the words of the man himself "I'm not a fucking idiot". We'd have to agree. Perhaps there is a certain distastefulness about joining up with the TV show, but the limelight that has come with it definitely hasn't done the new record any harm in terms of attracting attention from the music world.
But trust us when we say, the album itself deserves to claim top spot on it's own merits, if albeit for a brief space in time. While Wilson may not have anything particularly original and life-affirming to say about the current state of modern Britain, the Kaiser Chiefs still have that nod-along indie rock kick, demonstrated well by track "Bows and Arrows".
