The new single from the British electro-pop maestros

Hot Chip have announced the release date and title of their upcoming sixth studio album and unveiled the first single from the new release. The album, entitled Why Make Sense?, is to be released on 18th May on Domino and the first single to be taken from it is Huarache Lights, the video for which is directed by Andy Knowles and features an art installation by Rob Bell. The single is unmistakably Hot Chip, with its distinctive melancholic cerebral house vibes led by Alexis Taylor's floating falsetto. Since 2012's In Our Heads the band have been concentrating on separate projects, with Taylor releasing the folk-tinged solo album Await Barbarians and Joe Goddard once again teaming up with Raf Daddy to release The Night Is Young under the moniker of The 2 Bears. Hot Chip will be touring internationally throughout May and June, with a couple of UK gigs in late February.
