Eoin French, alias Talos, is an Irish artist and producer from Cork. Having released this LP over a year ago, Wild Alee has been given a re-release with the label BMG. The album was written and co-produced with Ross Dowling in three locations; Iceland, Dublin and West Cork, and the pair have created a fresh sound that deserves its moment in the sun. As well as this, the Irishman has debuted a new song, Kansas, off an upcoming four track EP.
Talos’ music is full of falsetto vocals, reverb soaked guitars and pop heavy synths. Notable tracks include Your Love Is An Island, Contra and Tethered Bones, and they highlight French’s amazing ear for a catchy chilled out compilation. While Odyssey is a heartfelt ballad that underscores a restless heart, with its plucked guitar chords and ricocheting beats, with uplifting synths bringing the track together at the end. However, it’s a well balanced record as acoustic numbers, Piece(s) and Endgame, give a welcomed interval before heavier tracks like 209 and Wetlands.
The new single, Kansas, is an extremely powerful number with a majestic musicality, that matches the lyrical prowess of French impressively every step of the way.
