It's the sophomore LP from Slowly Slowly, titled St. Leonards...

The Melbourne foursome have released their sophomore album St. Leonards . A seaside town in the Sydney suburbs, the content matches perfectly the title, as this summer rock album is built on simple guitar chords and lyrics of young love and growing up. The LP itself has some emo flourishes (Sunburnt Shoulders, Ten Leaf Clovers) dotted throughout its rock compilations but the album as a whole is enjoyable and will go nicely with a summer sunset.

The opener Dinosaurs is a cresconding ballad as Ben Stewart bemoans the struggle of growing up, while the single Alchemy is a more feel good track touching on the pleasures of basic human interaction. Having had great success with their debut album Chamomile (2016), this records touches nicely on the trials and tribulations of growing up in your twenties. Fans of Blink 182 and Don Broco will be drawn to this LP and all in all, it’s a commendable effort from the Aussies.
