Witherfall
A melodic metal outfit based out of Los Angeles, California, Witherfall was founded in 2013 by former members of White Wizzard, Into Eternity, and Kobra & the Lotus. Employing a heady blend of gritty power metal and intricate progressive rock, the group features the talents of guitarist Jake Dreyer, keyboardist/vocalist Joseph Michael, guitarist Fili Bibiano, bassist Anthony Crawford, and drummer Steve Bolognese -- the crew's original kitman, Adam Paul Sagan, passed away in 2016. The band's independent debut album, 2017's Nocturnes and Requiems, was recorded at the Bunker in Phoenix, Arizona, and mixed and mastered by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (Rob Zombie, Queensrÿche). The versatile eight-song set was well-received and caught the attention of Sony imprint Century Media, which signed the group the following year. Witherfall issued their sophomore effort and major-label debut, A Prelude to Sorrow, in November 2018.
