Ritviz

Ritviz Srivastava, aka classically trained Indian pop maestro Ritviz, bridges the gap between the traditional and modern with his hip-hop-infused dance-pop jams. Born on July 24, 1996 in Darbhanga in the Indian state of Bihar – and raised in Pune, Maharashtra – the singer-songwriter and producer was immersed in music from an early age, owing to his classical vocalist mother and tabla-playing father. He began studying Hindustani classical music as a child and started playing around on electronic music production software as a pre-teen, breaking out onto the scene in 2017 after his fusion track "Udd Gaye" was featured on the official YouTube channel of Mumbai-based comedy company. A.I.B. and he won the 2017 Bacardi House Party Sessions, a talent hunt competition organized by A.I.B. He began making waves on India's electronic music scene, adding hip-hop and Hindustani classical touches to the mix, with his Ved EP – featuring "Udd Gaye" – arriving in 2019 and the talked-about "Liggi" single also appearing that year. In 2020, Netflix India featured Ritviz's song "Sun Toh" in their romantic drama series Mismatched. A handful of singles followed, including 2021's slinky slice of Indian pop, "Thandi Rawa," and "Pran," also released that year.
