Perfect Son

Tobiasz Biliński is a Polish musician and songwriter known for his work in experimental rock outfit Kyst in the late 2000s and early 2010s. He has also explored a range of genres and sound on solo efforts such as 2016's The Provider and 2018's Cast, belonging to his other projects Coldair and Perfect Son. Born in 1990, Biliński made his first appearance on the scene when he co-founded the experimental rock band Kyst with guitarist Adam Byczkowski in 2008. Initially a two-piece, the project eventually became a fully fledged outfit for live performances and put out their debut LP, Cotton Touch, in 2010 via Gingerbread Records. Biliński and Byczkowski's compositions drew upon an eclectic array of influences, ranging from post-rock and folk to electronic and ambient music, which drew the attention of alternative music fans throughout Poland. They followed up with sophomore album Waterworks -- a more instrumental effort -- in 2011 via Polish record label Antena Krzyku. Between releases, Biliński also began his first solo project, Coldair, which utilized elements of synth pop. He put out four albums under the Coldair moniker, including 2010's Persephone and 2016's The Provider. Throughout the 2010s, Biliński toured extensively with both the Coldair and Kyst projects, performing at events such as South by Southwest in Austin, Primavera Sound in Barcelona, and Incubate in Tilburg, Netherlands. Shortly after the release of The Provider in 2016, Biliński began a new solo project called Perfect Son, which lyrically explored more positive subject matter with his familiar synth pop sound. He spent 2017 and 2018 writing and recording a debut record for the project. Perfect Son's first LP, Cast, arrived via Sub Pop Records in early 2019.
