Giorgio Giampà

Italian composer and musician Giorgio Giampà has worked on scores for TV, film, and documentaries, mostly for projects taking place in Italy and Russia. Born in Rome, he started learning drums at age six. By his teenage years he was an active participant in Rome's hardcore punk scene, even founding his own record label in the process. Eventually he moved on to composing scores, with a great deal of success; by 2009 he had won the award of Best Score at Sulmona Film Festival for his work on the documentary Girls Life Trembles. More notable projects occurred in the wake of his initial recognition, including his work on the 2013 film The South Is Nothing. His work eventually led him back to the music industry, where he would collaborate with the likes of Nic Cester (Jet) and the Iskra String Quartet. He went on to win the Best Score Award at Canneseriess 2021 for his work on the TV show Christian.
