Filippo Mineccia

Italian countertenor Filippo Mineccia is a specialist in the 18th century castrato repertoire. A native of Florence, he attended the Fiesole School of Music and sang in its choir. He studied with Gianni Fabbrini and Donatella Debolini, and graduated from the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence. Mineccia won prizes in several voice competitions, and began singing with various ensembles in early music performances, including Il Complesso Barocco, La Cappella della Pietà de Turchini, Collegium Marianum, Accademia Bizantina, I Barocchisti, and La Folia Barockorchester, among others. In opera, he has sung major roles by Handel, Vivaldi, Purcell, and Scarlatti, and performed solo parts in oratorios and other choral works, He records for Pan Classics and Glossa.
