Bosse
Hailing from Braunschweig, Germany, singer/songwriter Axel Bosse leads the eponymously titled indie rock quartet Bosse, along with guitarist Thorsten Sala, bassist Theofilos Fotiades, and drummer Björn Krüger. His songs are melodious, catchy, and optimistic, offering thoughtful observations about life and love. Bosse released their first single, Kraft, on Scoop Music in 2004, and debut full-length Kamikazeherz arrived on EMI in 2005. The successful album was followed up the next year with Guten Morgen Spinner, after which Bosse left EMI. Third album Taxi, produced by Jochen Naaf and featuring the hit single 3 Millionen, was released by Fuego in 2009. Wartesaal arrived on new label Vertigo in 2011, and the group performed the single Frankfurt Oder on the Bundesvision Song Contest, where they came in at third place. Fifth album Kraniche followed in 2013, along with another Bundesvision appearance. Performing single So Oder So, the group won first prize this time, and the album was certified gold after selling over 100,000 copies. The group completed a successful, exquisitely orchestrated German tour, and a CD/DVD, Kraniche: Live in Hamburg, was released in 2014. Bosse's sixth studio album, the celebratory Engtanz, appeared in 2016, followed by another tour.
