In May 2013 a young Italian pianist of genius presented himself at the 14th Van Cliburn competition and won the hearts of music lovers all over the globe with his exceptional playing and unique personality. When he returned to Fort Worth two months later at the invitation of the orchestra to perform the Rachmaninoff's 2nd concerto, his extraordinary and now legendary performance confirmed what many suspected, a talent like this comes once in a generation. This new Schumann recording is remarkable in every way. © Artalinna/Qobuz
