Op Our Love to Admire, brengt Interpol ongeveer de helft van de tijd door met het volgen van de spelstrategie van Antics waarmee ze hun sound in toegankelijke hooks omzetten. De andere helft van de tijd rekken ze hun muziek op met strijkers, blazers en keyboards (allen werken op grandioze wijze samen op “Wrecking Ball”). Poppy nummers zoals “No I in Threesome” en “The Heinrich Maneuver” zijn helemaal tot een zwartleren glans gepolijst, terwijl “Mammoth” naar een gracieuze woede toebouwt rondom de meedogenloze ritmesectie. De twee mooiste nummers die strijden om de titel van beste nummer zijn: “Rest My Chemistry”, loom en helder, en het kwetsbare slotsuk “The Lighthouse” dat prat gaat op Paul Banks’ meest geaffecteerde zang tot nu toe.
