Eleven years after the initial La Llorona, and six years after The Living Road, this third eponymous album, whose tragic circumstances left without a successor, closes an exemplary discography without any misstep or repetition. Lhasa simplifies the processes: she records live with a band, recently formed, on analog equipment. After having been discovered with a Spanish, then a trilingual repertoire, here she performs songs, in her most natural voice, only in English - her mother tongue. Her compositions take up an American, folk, blues, country and even soul heritage, but remain completely guided by her captivating and oneiric inner world. Here, the light notes from a harp outline a light march. There, the rhythms of a smoky jazz club fills the space. Elsewhere, a slide guitar opens an airway. And everywhere, Lhasa’s voice is a sincere and intimate guide that talks to your heart and soul with sweetness and passion. Like few artists aside from the great ones, she manages to transmit an emotion torn between casualness and depth, and to offer a worldview in which fleeting moments and eternity dance together. © BM/Qobuz
