Vicktor Taiwò

Vicktor Taiwò has been honing an atmospheric, deeply emotive style of alternative R&B since the early 2010s. Based in East London, England via Nigeria -- he moved from his native Abeokuta at the age of eight -- the singer and songwriter chose music as his primary creative outlet on New Year's Day 2012. By the end of the following year, his song "Digital Kids" was heard in an episode of the television series version of Dear White People. The song subsequently became the lead track of Juno, a five-track EP dominated by similarly sensitive ballads, issued through Yebo Music in mid-2015. Taiwò subsequently joined the roster of Innovative Leisure and in 2018 issued the four-track EP First Movement, which was followed shortly thereafter by his first album, Joy Comes in Spirit.
