Insatiable. The prolific Logic is back with a fifth album. In 2018, Bobby released two critically acclaimed albums: YSIV and Bobby Tarantino. Still working with Def Jam and his faithful producer 6ix, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind confidently flexes its muscles. Eminem is invited along for the first time on Homicide. Ominous organs, and a passage that pays homage to Jay-Z, are combined with a technical display from the Maryland rapper whose flow is ultrafast, precise and of a beat that works well with the rhythm. All is accompanied by a lyrical prowess that brings the words to the forefront (“I don’t want to fuckin’ listen to you spit your rap someone else wrote”) making it very Slim Shady.
The Maryland rapper continues to cover topics of cinema culture, his alter egos, and his criticisms of social media (Clickbait, Icy, Still Ballin, Cocaine) while also dropping statements on the cutting genius of Kanye West (“I ain’t bipolar Kanye make me wish I was cause that level of genius the meanest.”) on Wannabe. With Wiz Khalifa, Gucci Mane and even his father on BOBBY, logic wracks up several great collaborations and disses Charlamagne tha God (of the radio show The Breakfast Club) on Clickbait. Some may say that its spotless but bland and predictable, others may state that he is becoming one of the most promising rappers on the scene.
