In the mid-90s the Fun Lovin’ Criminals produced some light and rather refreshing cocktails by mixing soul, rock, funk, blues, latino rhythms, jazz and hip hop. The summit of these unpretentious but groovy concoctions came in the form of Love Unlimited, the sexy single from their second album 100% Colombian (1998) with its legendary chorus: “Barry White saved my life”… In 1999, the New York trio, in a sort of “Beastie Boys lounge” style released Mimosa, an astounding compilation of electric covers which ranges from 10CC and Ozzy Osbourne to John Barry, Sinatra and Climax Blues Band. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of this high-flying record, the Fun Lovin’ Criminals have chosen some other covers.

For singer/guitarist Huey Morgan, Another Mimosa fits “into the continuation of a long tradition for our group which often pays homage to writer-composers who we feel close to, from our love of hip hop to jazz and rock. It’s a way of giving something more to the fans.” It’s also a way of underlining their 360° musical vision, this time remodeling songs from Tom Petty (Mary Jane’s Last Dance), Ice Cube (You Know How We Do It), Procol Harum (Whiter Shade Of Pale), Bobby Womack (Daylight), Link Wray (Rumble), Don Nix (Going Down) and Neil Diamond (Hello Again).
