Vladimir Lande

Vladimir Lande is a Russian conductor, oboist, and pianist. At the age of five he began taking piano lessons from his mother, and at 14 he began studying the oboe. He attended the Leningrad State Conservatory, and was invited in his second year to perform with the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2008, he has served as the music director of the Siberian State Symphony Orchestra, and in his highly active international career, he has also been the principal guest conductor of the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra, the music director and conductor of the Washington Chamber Soloists, and the artistic director of the Asian Pacific Festival. A specialist in the music of Mieczysław Weinberg, Lande has launched a 17-volume series for Naxos, and he has recorded a number of CDs for Navona Records, Ravello, Delos, Marquis Records, Brilliant Classics, and Arabesque.
