The Shins
Archétype du groupe de pop à guitares, les Shins sont en fait un projet parallèle de l'auteur-compositeur-interprète et guitariste James Mercer lorsqu'ils apparaissent en 1997. Après deux 45 tours chez Omnibus, le groupe se voit proposer de participer au Single of the Month Club du label Sub Pop, proposition qui se transformera en contrat pour la sortie d'un premier album. Oh, Inverted World, paru en 2001, devient l'un des albums de rock indépendant les plus marquants des années 2000. Il est suivi de Chutes Too Narrow en 2003 puis de Wincing the Night Away en 2007, ce dernier s'écoulant à 100 000 exemplaires la semaine de sa sortie, le plaçant à la deuxième place des charts.© Heather Phares /TiVo Lire plus
