Steak Number Eight
Belgian sludge/post-metal group Steak Number Eight were established in 2008 when not one of the bandmembers was older than 15. The formation of the group, from Wevelgem, was inspired by bands like Pelican, Isis, and Amenra. Their first studio album was released in 2008 under the title When the Candle Dies Out. Their already mature post-metal sound caused ripples in the underground press in the Low Countries, and when two years later the colossal successor All Is Chaos appeared, the band achieved much wider recognition, earning comparisons to legends such as Neurosis and Deftones. They toured heavily and played a number of high-profile festivals around Europe, increasing their fan base. In 2013 they released their third album, The Hutch, which had a more sludgy, stoner metal sound than before.
