Pierre Fouchenneret

Known for his strong interest in chamber repertoire, especially the works of Beethoven and Brahms, French violinist Pierre Fouchenneret is a founding member of the Strada Quartet. Fouchenneret attended the Paris Conservatoire, where he was a member of Olivier Charlier's class and won first prize in 2002. He also won prizes at the Natixis Group Foundation Music Competition in 2006, the Bordeaux International Chamber Music Competition in 2012, and the Young Talent Scholarship of the Musique et Vin du Clos-Vougeot. Fouchenneret is a regular guest artist of the public radio station France Musique, and is frequently featured in performances with French orchestras and chamber groups. Since 2012, Fouchenneret has been a member of the Opus 71 string trio with violist Nicolas Bône and cellist Eric Picard, and in 2013 he co-founded the Strada Quartet with violinist Sarah Nemtanu, violist Lise Berthaud, and cellist François Salque, specializing in the music of Beethoven. He has also performed Beethoven's complete violin sonatas with pianist Romain Descharmes on Aparte, released in 2016. Fouchenneret is a professor at the Center for Higher Education for Music and Dance in Bordeaux Aquitaine.
