No/Me

Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter No/Me applies personal lyrics to vibrant, off-kilter pop. The stage alias of Naomi Brackets, it's a play on both her name and the phrase "know me." She made her major-label debut with the single "Consistent" in 2018. Brackets grew up with a father who sang Joni Mitchell songs to her instead of lullabies, and when she was later introduced to the music of the Shins by a high school English teacher, she took to the lyrical nature of James Mercer's writing. She went on to study Musicology and Music Industry at UCLA. After the 2016 presidential election, she became determined to inspire positive change via music, and organized and performed at fundraisers for progressive causes. Republic Records signed No/Me and released her debut single, "Consistent," in mid-2018. Featuring electronics, heavy bass, and Middle Eastern percussion instruments (including darbuka performed by her brother), the song soon appeared on the FIFA 19 game soundtrack alongside acts such as Gorillaz and Childish Gambino.
