E.m.m.a.

Showing an early preference for bright, '80s-evoking timbres, London-based producer and composer E.M.M.A.'s first album, the club-oriented Blue Gardens, appeared in 2013. Her output gradually shifted toward a more cinematic, subdued synthwave-inspired sound by the arrival of her 2020 full-length, Indigo Dream. Emmaline Davies began sharing her mixtapes and productions under the handle E.M.M.A. in the early 2010s, with the Wavy Tones release "Rainbow Dust, Pt. 2" arriving in 2012. Her debut album, Blue Gardens, was issued by Keysound Recordings in 2013. She followed it with releases including DJ sets and the Will LV collaboration "Lies Lies Lies" (Dummy Records) before issuing "Glacé" in 2017. It was the subject of a three-track remix EP issued by Astral Plane Recordings that April. The same label released the more expansive five-track EP "LA Mermaid" midyear, and Coyote Records delivered "Mindmaze" b/w 'Pumpkin Emoji" in October 2017. The soundtrack to a short film of the same name, E.M.M.A.'s "Liberty" was the first release on her own Pastel Prism label in 2018. That year, she also provided music for campaigns by world-renowned high-fashion brands. Local Action Records released E.M.M.A.'s second full-length, Indigo Dream, in July 2020.
