Dorothea Seel

Flutist Dorothea Seel graduated from the Mozarteum Salzburg, and received her diploma for studies in early music from the Trossingen University of Music. She has toured as a soloist, performing concertos with the English Concert, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the Hanover Band, the New London Consort, the London Classical Players, Concerto Köln, the Ludwigsburg Festival Orchester, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Bremen Chamber Orchestra, the Hofkapelle München, the Harmony of Nations, and Concentus Musicus Wien. She has given master classes for Baroque, Classical, and Romantic flute at Southampton University, the University of Innsbruck, the Vienna City Conservatory, the Carinthian Summer Academy, the Music Academy of Riga, as well as her alma mater, Trossingen University. As the artistic director and conductor of the Barocksolisten München, Seel has recorded flute concertos by Antonio Vivaldi and Johann Sebastian Bach, and the flute sonatas of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and George Frederick Handel on Hänssler Classic. Seel also formed the Cellini Wind Quintet in 2011, to perform repertoire of the 18th and 19th centuries.
