Entré en chant comme en religion, le moine franciscain Frère Alessandro Bustenghi est le premier moine-artiste de l'histoire, une performance due à la perspicacité du label Decca qui a déniché la perle rare au fin fond d'une abbaye de Pérouse, au coeur de l'Ombrie italienne.
Doté d'une belle tessiture de ténor, pure, grave et mélodieuse et accessoirement d'un physique avantageux, Frère Alessandro a poussé comme un olivier dans ce décor idyllique de l'éternelle Italie. Chanteur dès le plus jeune âge à l'église, en chorale et au conservatoire, le moine barbu ne pouvait passer sous silence ce don de l'interprétation, tangible sur un premier album qui comprend les grands classiques de la musique sacrée. Il n'en faut pas beaucoup pour être transporté par sa voix dans Pater Noster ou Panis Angelicus, servis par une production transparente due à Mike Hedges, grand professionnel qui a oeuvré à la console pour The Cure, Texas, Dido ou U2.

Entré en chant comme en religion, le moine franciscain Frère Alessandro Bustenghi est le premier moine-artiste de l'histoire, une performance due à la perspicacité du label Decca qui a déniché la perle rare au fin fond d'une abbaye de Pérouse, au coeur de l'Ombrie italienne.
Doté d'une belle tessiture de ténor, pure, grave et mélodieuse et accessoirement d'un physique avantageux, Frère Alessandro a poussé comme un olivier dans ce décor idyllique de l'éternelle Italie. Chanteur dès le plus jeune âge à l'église, en chorale et au conservatoire, le moine barbu ne pouvait passer sous silence ce don de l'interprétation, tangible sur un premier album qui comprend les grands classiques de la musique sacrée. Il n'en faut pas beaucoup pour être transporté par sa voix dans Pater Noster ou Panis Angelicus, servis par une production transparente due à Mike Hedges, grand professionnel qui a oeuvré à la console pour The Cure, Texas, Dido ou U2.
