En vue du 80e anniversaire de la naissance de Blandine Verlet (disparue en décembre 2018), Universal Music France a réédité l’intégralité des enregistrements que la claveciniste réalisa pour la maison Philips entre 1970 et 1982. Une somme longtemps disparue, rééditée en partie en haute définition, à redécouvrir de toute urgence, notamment pour les prises de son Philips de l’époque, souvent miraculeuses. Universal a autorisé Qobuz à reproduire la longue et détaillée notice de présentation du livret, écrite par notre spécialiste classique.

Max Richter, l’activiste du néo-classique

Avec la sortie de son nouvel album Exiles, une réflexion sur l’exil menée avec le Baltic Sea Orchestra, l’iconoclaste et prolifique pionnier du courant néo-classique Max Richter se positionne une nouvelle fois comme un des artistes les plus engagés toutes scènes musicales confondues. Reliant musiques classique et électroniques, mondes physique et sensible, rarement un artiste aura produit de la musique instrumentale aussi évocatrice.

Suzanne Danco, une soprano sincère et sensible

Disparue en août 2000, la cantatrice belge Suzanne Danco reste bien vivante dans le souvenir des mélomanes à la faveur de nombreuses rééditions, dont le superbe coffret de 8 disques publié par Decca Eloquence Australie. Mozartienne accomplie, la soprano belge fit les beaux jours du Festival d’Aix-en-Provence dès ses débuts en 1948, avant d’enregistrer des versions de référence de Shéhérazade de Ravel avec Ansermet, qui la demandait sans cesse pour toute une série de disques essentiels. Ayant eu la chance de la connaître de très près, l’auteur décrira donc l’artiste comme une amie chère.
