The Avener, historiquement l’homme chargé des chevaux du roi et de la reine dans l’Angleterre des XVe et XVIe siècles, est considéré comme un titre de noblesse. On peut en effet faire l’analogie avec le son un peu cow-boy du DJ français, qui insuffle un nouvel élan deep house aux chansons originales entre funk, blues et soul. Le tube Fade Out Lines est originellement un titre de l’Australienne Phoebe Killdeer que The Avener a électrisé par des rythmiques « club ». De la deep house, certes, mais subtile. Pas trop surchargée, juste bien équilibrée pour apporter l’énergie nécessaire sans lasser l’auditeur par une répétition barbante. © HR/Qobuz
