Les Black Eyed Peas font une musique pop crossover efficace, mais avec toutes les limitations du genre : des paroles insipides, une exécution maladroite, des chants lissés via Auto-Tune et une composition qui semble viser constamment le dénominateur commun le plus bas, sans manquer de l’atteindre. Menés par la production de will.i.am, qui constitue d’un bout l’autre le meilleur de l’album, les Black Eyed Peas s’éloignent encore un peu plus du hip-hop au profit d’une dance-pop platement stimulante, fin prête pour les opportunités marketing et publicitaires. The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies) ne fera certainement pas changer d’idée ceux qui pensent que l’approche racoleuse du groupe et leurs prestations maladroites en font ce que la musique pop a connu de pire dans les années 2000.
