En Allemagne aussi, ils ont leur Michel Legrand : Peter Thomas ! Ses musiques de film souvent déjantées ont fortement marqué toute une génération de spectateurs, dans les années 1960 et 1970. A tel point qu’il est souvent cité et samplé par de nombreux jeunes groupes pop, depuis les années 1990. Le compositeur culte s'en est allé le 17 mai 2020. Nous l'avions rencontré trois ans plus tôt, à l'aube de ses 92 ans.

Jazz : où sont les femmes ?

A l’exception des chanteuses, les femmes du jazz ont dû batailler ferme pour se frayer un chemin vers le devant de la scène. De Mary Lou Williams à Jaimie Branch en passant par Geri Allen ou Alice Coltrane, elles sont finalement assez peu nombreuses à s’être imposées dans un genre resté presque exclusivement masculin. Et toujours aussi macho ?
