Avec son physique avantageux de jeune premier romantique, l’Allemand Jonas Kaufmann a modernisé l’image du ténor d’opéra, souvent considéré comme un bateleur impénitent. Outre sa voix puissante et variée, Jonas Kaufmann possède un répertoire immense, en plusieurs langues, à l’aise à l’opéra dans Wagner comme dans Verdi ou Puccini, chantant le lied ou l’opéra français à merveille. Grand admirateur de Fritz Wunderlich, il a commencé sa carrière “à l’ancienne”, en troupe dans de petits théâtres allemands avant de voler de ses propres ailes vers une carrière phénoménale. Après une année 2017 chaotique due à un hématome sur les cordes vocales, Jonas Kaufmann semble parfaitement rétabli et travaille sur de très nombreux projets.
