Une chanteuse « jazzy » de plus ? Non, non et non, Melody Gardot n’est pas un feu de paille mais le véritable électrochoc un peu jazz, un peu lounge, un peu pop, un peu blues, un peu tout ce qui donne envie de se faire couler un bain moussant, un Martini (with olives !) à la main… On imagine aisément le potentiel sticker sur la pochette de ce disque : Si vous aimez Norah Jones, Madeleine Peyroux et Stacey Kent, Melody Gardot est faite pour vous ! Certes, les liens sont visibles et parfois bien réels… Pourtant, cette jeune musicienne de Philadelphie impose un grain de voix bien à elle. Larry Klein qui a mis en boite ce superbe deuxième opus, My One And Only Thrill, ne s’y est pas trompé dans les beaux habits qu'il lui a cousus, ceux d’une production d’un temps passé, lorsque luxe, volupté, langueur et rêve éveillé se conjuguaient tous ensemble… © CM/Qobuz
